Saturday January 26th

We spent our morning hours at Isaac's basketball game. We are 'big' on having fun and enjoying the game not about winning. Isaac sure looks like he's having fun!

After a fun game and lazy afternoon we were invited to Aunt Wilma's and Uncle Ron's for dinner. In preparation for Grandma Dixon's 90th Birthday and Grandpa Dixon's 84th Birthday family from North Carolina came up so we got a chance to fellowship with them.

We haven't been to their house this season and always love to see the Christmas villages up...

The kids relaxing...

Family means everything...
What a blessing to have such a great family!

PLAY DATE WITH GRANNY

Friday the 25th we had a teacher work day so no school for the kids. Isaac was very excited to have his friend Daniel over to play for a few hours in the morning. Then he was off to his friend Chris's for a few hours in the afternoon.
Chloe on the other hand was not happy, because she didn't have a play date scheduled. I suggested we give Granny a call to see if she'd like to come have a play date...

Granny asked for a side view shot to show off her wings!

Giggles with Granny are the best way to spend your day...

1ST SNOW OF 2008

We got our first snow of the year. The snow started falling after the kids had been in school so there was no turning back. I went into the school in the afternoon and you could see on ALL the kids faces "SNOW FIGHT"...they couldn't wait to get out of school.
Before the kids got home I was able to capture a few pictures...

We got some more snow after this...not much more. Our house...

This is the bridge across the cul-de-sac from our house...

A very dead..very cold rose...

There was a squirrel in the feeder right before I snapped the picture...

The kids home and ready to play...

Basketball Games

Isaac's game on January 5th...

Cheerleader...actually she spent most of her time coloring in the book she brought. It was a nice thought to cheer on her brothers team though.

January 12th Game...

Coach Gallant and Isaac taking a look at the game before theirs. Are they taking notes?

Two Cheerleaders!!!

Not sure where Isaac's going, but everyone else seems to be looking the other direction!

Chloe was more interested in playing outside than watching Isaac's game. It was a nice enough day. Typically during the basketball games it's COLD!!!

Where do they think they are going...

Happy Birthday Mom!

Happy Birthday to my mom (aka Granny)...

I hope she made a good wish! We had a great lunch and played a friendly game of kids trivial pursuit. We didn't get to finish the entire game, but it was a lot of fun. Ryan brought his girlfriend Diane with him. It was nice to meet her..she's a great lady.

Happy New Year!

We had a great New Years Eve spending the day at our friends house playing Wii and visiting. I believe I was snoozing by 10:30pm. I'm not much of a partier! Scott said he watched the ball drop and saw some fireworks outside our house.

Scott's Uncle Ron was having a retirement ceremony on Friday the 4th. He was retiring from 51 years in the Air Force as a photographer. If anyone was at my wedding we were lucky enough to have him take our pictures. The ceremony was held in the Woman's Memorial building at Arlington Cemetery. I'm not one for 'knowing the who's who' from what I gathered he had a huge turn out from the Air Force. It was so wonderful hearing all the stories and great things said about a man we know as 'Uncle Ron'. We knew he was awesome, but everyone else seems to think so too! The ceremony was wonderful. That evening there was a dinner as well. Scott and I sat with one of Ron's best friends Harry and his wife Laney. We got a huge history on this area and some hilarious stories. It was a fun night. Congratulations to Uncle Ron!!!

Another bonus was having some of Scott's family from North Carolina up to attend the festivities. We were able to visit with them one night and catch up.

Jerry giving the kids a run for their money...
